The California Conceptions program offers up to three transfers with donated embryos for a single price. Since the donor embryos are formed from donor eggs and donor sperm, the pregnancy rates are very high. This is one of the most cost ways of achieving a pregnancy. Greater than 90% of our patients have had a baby with our program. We are confident enough in our results to offer a refund option to those who qualify.

Combining donor embryos with genetic screening results in higher success. Using only one embryo the pregnancy rates are equivalent to using 2 embryos without genetic screening. Genetic screening can reduce the risk of genetic errors in the embryos and improve live birth rates.---
This is the original California Conceptions Donor Embryo Program. This option allows up to 3 transfers with donor embryos. Genetic testing is not available. Medication costs and travel costs are not included.The basic program increased to $15,000 effective 9/1/2017. Patients that paid before the increase occurring on 9/1/2017, must start their treatment by 12/1/2017, or an additional $2,500 will be required to proceed. The cancellation policy will apply to advance payments.
As part of an evaluation program, patients may transfer 2 embryos with the PGS program. The additional embryo will cost $3,000 per each transfer of two embryos. This will increase the pregnancy rate up to 80%, and the chance of twins to 60%.
To be eligible for a full refund, patients must meet all of the following requirements before each embryo transfer:
The determination of refund eligibility is at the sole discretion of our physicians and is not negotiable. The majority of patients applying for the refund option are found to be eligible.
Medications
The cost of medications associated with going through treatment in this program is the sole responsibility of the patient. Medications are purchased by the patient directly through the pharmacy of her choice. The clinic does not apply charges or grant refunds for any costs associated with medications. The medication costs for up to three donated embryo transfer are not included.
Travel
Travel costs and travel arrangements are not part of the California Conceptions program. All travel and lodging costs are the full responsibility of the patient. We are sensitive to the high cost of travel and it’s our goal to help you get pregnant as quickly as possible. Some patients elect to waive the refund option to save on additional travel costs.
Tests and Ultrasounds at Other Facilities
California IVF offers a package price for required laboratory tests and saline contrast ultrasound. Your physician may request additional tests which are not included in the package price, such as serum estradiol or progesterone, or screening for varicella. Ultrasounds that are part of the treatment program are included when performed at our clinic. These ultrasounds include the baseline ultrasound (before medications) and monitoring ultrasound (checking the uterine lining). One obstetrical ultrasound is included when performed at our clinic. Two pregnancy tests are included when performed at California IVF. Any ultrasounds and tests performed at another location will be the patient’s financial responsibility and is not included in the program fee.
Prenatal Care
One obstetrical ultrasound is included at California IVF when a pregnancy occurs. Any ultrasounds and tests performed at another location will be the patient’s financial responsibility and is not included in the program fee. California IVF does not provide obstetrical care or services beyond the initial ultrasound and patients will need to establish prenatal care with their own physician.
Pregnancy
In this program, a successful pregnancy outcome is based on a 12 week and 0/7 day gestation with fetal cardiac activity. Achieving this point in gestation concludes the treatment obligations of this contract, and no additional embryo transfers will be available.
Payment
The California Conceptions Donated Embryo Program requires advance payment, which is due in full one week from the date the patient and partner (if applicable) signs their first donor embryo profile. The clinic will not bill your insurance company for any part of the price. Also, the clinic will not provide an itemized receipt and/or billing codes for services rendered as California Conceptions is a “cash discounted” program. Embryos will be assigned to another recipient if payments are not received on time.
Cancellation Policy
If a cancellation occurs prior to the first embryo transfer, the patient will be charged a $1,500 coordination fee plus the cost of any ultrasounds performed. These fees will be subtracted from the refund. No refunds will be given if the patient elects to cancel treatment after the first transfer of donated embryos.
